Understanding flange connections as a system — avoiding leaks
Their expertise in permanent flange connections helps to prevent leaks in pipelines.
Insufficient knowledge of the load-bearing capacity and special properties of collars and flanges often leads to planning and purchasing errors for flange connections. Contradictory statements on quality and compatibility make the selection of suitable flanges and collars even more difficult.
In a 3‑part video series, we use practical examples to explain what you should consider when selecting flange connections.
In our 3‑part video series you will learn:
✅Why it is so important to understand flange connections as systems
✅ Whether flange and HDPE connections are a risk for leaks
✅What the challenges of flange connections with steel parts are

Over 40 years of experience in plastic-compatible design
Since its foundation, Reinert-Ritz has been involved in the development and manufacture of solutions for plant and pipeline construction that are suitable for plastics and pressure classes.
Flange connections are therefore one of our core competencies. We have developed flanges that are highly reliable and solve many problems in PE 100 pipeline construction.
Reference projects
When planning the extinguishing water pipe for the newly built Airbus site in Hamburg, the contractor was convinced by the advantages of a PE pipe with corresponding special flanges on all fittings.
A wastewater pressure pipeline was planned and implemented in Boras, Sweden. The T‑pieces were used here as aeration and ventilation points.
A drinking water transport pipe made of PE was planned with individual special and fixed flanges. The pipeline also provides an inlet to a waterworks.
Higher operating pressures with standard flange connections
If conventional flange connections are subjected to higher pressures, they quickly reach their limits. In higher pressure ranges, forces and expansions occur which often lead to tilting of the collars and in particular the sealing surfaces of the joint. There is a risk that the flange connection will leak or fail completely.
